Key Responsibilities

• Write and execute test cases primarily for backend systems (APIs, databases, data pipelines).

• Perform manual and automated API testing and data validation.

• Maintain and extend our existing Python-based regression test suite.

• Conduct negative testing, stress/load testing, and performance validation.

• Review requirements and technical documents to ensure completeness and testability.

• Work with product managers and developers to clarify ambiguous requirements.

• Assist in post-deployment forensics and root cause analysis.

Required Skills

• 2–4+ years of QA or software engineering experience in a backend-focused environment.

• Proficiency in Python — ability to read, write, and maintain automation scripts.

• Solid experience testing REST APIs using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.

• Familiarity with SQL for data validation and basic queries.

• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, or custom Python scripts).

• Strong attention to detail and methodical testing practices.

• Ability to read and understand product/engineering requirements for validation.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in an AWS environment.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and how test automation integrates into them.

• Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK).

• Understanding of data pipelines or ETL testing.
