Position Overview:
- Implementing Ivanti Change Management and Ivanti Neurons Asset Management for asset discovery and service mapping, using Virima as the discovery and mapping engine.
- Seeking an experienced consultant to assist in configuring, troubleshooting, and remediating issues with both agent-based and agentless scanning protocols.
- The environment is experiencing persistent issues with the agentless discovery method, unrelated to security controls or endpoint blocking.
- The consultant will work alongside internal teams to drive resolution and optimize the deployment.
Responsibilities:
- Configure and troubleshoot Virima agentless and agent-based discovery methods.
- Resolve issues with Ivanti Neurons Asset Management service mapping, especially where mapping fails due to credential or scanning issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify root causes and implement fixes.
- Document configuration and provide knowledge transfer to the internal IT team.
- Validate security and connectivity settings relevant to asset scanning (e.g., WMI, SSH, WinRM, SNMP).
- Ensure successful integration between Virima and Ivanti Neurons CMDB modules.
- Provide recommendations for long-term stability and best practices.
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of ITSM / ITOM experience with focus on Asset Management, CMDB, and Discovery tools.
- Deep expertise in Ivanti Neurons Asset Management.
- Hands-on experience with Virima Discovery & Service Mapping tools.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting agentless scanning protocols (Windows / Linux environments).
- Strong understanding of credential management and protocols like WMI, WinRM, SSH.
- Experience integrating 3rd-party discovery tools with Ivanti or similar ITSM platforms.
- Ability to lead troubleshooting sessions and act as a SME across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ivanti or Virima Certification(s)
- Experience working with utilities or similar regulated environments.
- Prior engagement in professional services or consulting roles.
Pay Rate: $65 - $70 / Hour
