Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
• Perform underwriting support activities associated with the management of all underwriting transactions, service standards and compliance rules and documentation.
• Develop proficiency in basic underwriting analysis, file preparation and report assessment.
• Provide accurate rating support for new business submissions and renewals.
• Support production of quotes, generate binders, and process endorsements for the Underwriters.
• Issuing renewal policies as instructed by the underwriting team.
• Demonstrate a customer service mindset by proactively engaging with underwriters as well as internal and external contacts.
• Collaborate and correspond with internal and external contacts, to achieve a high level of service and meet client expectations.
• Interact directly with various business partners and internal departments.
• Meet departmental service standards in place for each process.
• Partner with operations and technology teams for system enhancements / implementations with focus on ongoing process improvement.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned under minimal supervision.
• Ability to process and adapt to change in a rapid growth new-company environment. Client's associates are expected to be curious, thrifty, and resourceful to manage through the unknowns of growing a specialty (re)insurance business from the ground up.
• Initial focus on Renewal creation including gathering underwriting file, primary rating, and underlying structure creation. This effectively creates a renewal account for an Underwriter to review.
• Upon successful demonstrated ability to process renewals effectively, we look to expand candidates responsibility to new business processing.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Bachelor's or Technical degree or equivalent preferred.
• At least two years of insurance industry experience preferred.
• 1 year of insurance product line experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance policy forms and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical: Able to identify and define problems, extract key information from data and develop workable solutions for the problems identified to test and verify the cause of the problem and develop solutions to resolve the problems identified.
• Drive to Deliver: Takes accountability for work, organizes, and prioritizes, delivers results, is action oriented, sets and achieves goals and demonstrates resilience.
• Customer service focus: Recognizes customers' needs, meets their requirements, and adds value to customer outcomes, balances customer and business.
• Digitally savvy/Insight: Builds the information from a variety of sources, cuts through complexity, considers options, solves problems, and makes decisions.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, & ImageRight.
