About the Role:
The Quality Assurance Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of
software applications through rigorous testing processes. This role involves developing,
executing, and maintaining test plans and scripts for both automated and manual tests.
The QA Tester collaborates with development teams to identify and address defects,
ensuring that products meet specified requirements and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Design and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Execute tests, analyze results, and document findings.
• Identify, record, and track defects using bug tracking software.
• Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and improve software quality.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts using relevant tools.
• Conduct regression testing to ensure resolved issues do not reoccur.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability.
• Stay updated with new testing tools and test strategies.
Required Skills & Abilities:
• Strong understanding of software development and QA methodologies.
• Proven expertise in automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP).
• Experience with manual testing techniques.
• Familiarity with bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of previous experience in software testing or QA roles.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in commercial P & C QA testing roles.
• Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
• Experience with both automated and manual testing environments.
• Experience using scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is advantageous.
